DYXnet establishes 10Gbps Greater China backbone

DYXnet Group has established a 10Gbps backbone ring throughout Greater China's major cities including Beijing, Guangzhou, Hong Kong, Shanghai, and Taipei.

The carrier-neutral network service provider now has more than 200 internet and network points of presence (POPs) in 57 cities throughout Greater China, Singapore and Vietnam. Over the next 6 to 12 months, DYXnet plans to add another two cities to its footprint by establishing PoPs in Silicon Valley, US, and Frankfurt, Germany.

"Our global carrier clients continue to expand business operations and upgrade their bandwidth requirements to run mission-critical applications on our reliable, scalable and resilient network,” said DYXnet founder and CEO Lap Man.

Backbone infrastructure has been a major beneficiary of the group's 2016 merger with 21Vianet's Content Centric Internet Backbone (CCIB) unit. DYXnet's total internet capacity is now 1,000G, while internet peering arrangements have now been established with 240 global carriers, internet exchanges and well-known enterprises.

DYXnet has also increased its number of dual PoP cities to eight - Hong Kong, Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Dongguan, Suzhou and Taipei - to offer its enterprise-grade clients with better resilience and high-redundancy backbone.

Man added: "Ever since merging our virtual private network operation with 21Vianet's CCIB unit earlier this year, we have developed synergies to offer best-of-breed network backbone as well as wider network coverage to our carrier-grade and global brand clients. The fact we are planning two new POPs outside Greater China adds a whole new dimension to our already well-established network coverage."
