The PoP – located near the International Financial Center (IFC) and within reach of the business district – is said to extend the reach of DE-CIX Istanbul. Launched last October, The internet exchange was designed to deliver carrier and data centre neutral internet exchange services for internet service providers from Turkey, the Caucasus region, Persia and the Middle East.
“The growth potential of internet traffic in Turkey is tremendous, and more and more networks are enhancing their IP quality and reducing costs by exchanging traffic locally instead of sending it via Western European routes,” said Bülent Şen, regional director of Turkey at DE-CIX.
“With Zenium, we have found a reliable partner to expand our platform to an additional district in Istanbul, focusing on the rising need for high speed reliable interconnection services in the International Financial Center,” he added.
The Zenium Istanbul One data centre is said to provide 12,000 square metres of space across three purpose-built data centres. Julian King, managing director of Zenium Germany, said: “Our customers rely on not only premium data centre standards, but also on the best possible connectivity. With DE-CIX Istanbul present at Zenium Istanbul One, we can fulfil this need.”
