Ooredoo reveals management reshuffle

Sheikh Saud bin Nasser al-Thani has replaced Nasser Marafih as group chief executive at Qatari telco Ooredoo in a senior management reshuffle.

The company has also appointed Waleed al-Sayed as deputy group CEO, as well as CEO of Oordeoo Qatar, and Marafih has joined the company’s board.

Chief of wholesale, Yousuf al-Kubaisi, will take over al-Sayed’s previous position as chief operating officer at Ooredoo’s domestic operations.

Sheikh Saud joined Ooredoo in 1980 and leaves his position as chief executive of Ooredoo’s domestic operations for his new role.

Ooredoo operates in a range of markets across the Middle East, Africa and Asia, and in March this year, predicted a decline of 3% in revenue for 2015.

In September this year, Ooredoo appointed Haroon Shahul Hameed as acting CCO to replace outgoing Cynthia Gordon.
