Telefonica selects Astellia for network optimisation

Spain’s Telefonica has signed a global framework agreement with Astellia for RAN optimisation.

Astellia delivers network and subscriber intelligence to mobile operators and the two year deal will see Astellia provide services to all of Telefonica’s operating companies (OpCos).

“Thanks to the partnership with Astellia, Telefonica’s customers will be able to take advantage of the improvement in network performance and efficiency and benefit from more reliable services and seamless connectivity,” said Ian Miller, radio access director at Telefonica.

Astellia’s radio optimisation expertise in multi-techno, multi-vendor environments is expected to help Telefonica to prevent any quality degradation of its network and consequently improve customer experience.

“Astellia is very proud to get this acknowledgement from Telefonica and is fully committed to helping Telefonica maintain its competitive edge,” said Domingo Munoz, global key account director at Astellia.

France’s Orange Group named Astellia as its strategic partner in March 2013, and in 2014, Astellia acquired Ingenia Telecom.
