The move is expected to strengthen Singtel’s cloud-based solutions as it aims to position itself as a global managed security services provider.
Headquartered in Chicago, Trustwave is said to be one of the largest managed security services providers in North America with more than three million business subscribers in 96 countries.
The acquisition will provide access to Trustwave’s cyber security assets, which includes enterprise-grade managed security services management delivered through the cloud-based TrustKeeper portal.
The move also lands the Singapore operators six more security operations centre (SOCs) –- four in North America, one in Asia-Pacific and one in Europe – adding to its existing SOC in Singapore and planned SOC in Australia.
“Singtel will leverage Trustwave’s strong market position in North America and its deep capabilities to offer differentiated security solutions to our customers. With Trustwave as the core of our cyber security business, Singtel is well positioned to be a leading global managed security services provider,” said Bill Chang, CEO, Singtel Group Enterprise.
