Vodafone restructures European management

Philipp Humm, Vodafone’s chief executive officer for Europe, is to resign from his position, and four CEOs from the operator's European operations will join its executive board.

The restructuring comes as the company looks to streamline its management structure, and Humm will leave his role later this year to “continue his CEO career outside Vodafone”, according to a statement from the company.

Four CEOs from Vodafone’s operating countries across Europe will now report directly to Vodafone Group CEO Vittorio Colao, and will also become members of the Group Executive Committee, effective October 1 2015.

The four comprise Hannes Ametsreiter, newly appointed CEO of Vodafone Germany, Aldo Bisio, Vodafone Italy CEO, Jeroen Hoencamp, Vodafone UK CEO, and Antonio Coimbra, CEO of Vodafone Spain.

“These changes will streamline the management of our largest European markets and accelerate our strategic plans in those countries as convergence gathers pace and our Project Spring organic investment program and focus on efficiency deliver visible results,” Colao said.

Germany, Italy, the UK and Spain remain core telecoms markets for Vodafone, and Vodafone Netherlands CEO Rob Shuter is also set to join the executive committee with responsibility for Vodafone’s smaller European markets.
