The cloud service is said to enable enterprises to connect their data centres to the Microsoft Azure cloud platform in a secure and cost-effective way. The collaboration aims to bring together the strengths of a telecoms operator and cloud service providers to create a “one-stop hybrid cloud solution”, said the companies in a joint statement.
According to HGC, it has received strong demand from corporate customers for connectivity to popular public cloud platforms.
“We have therefore partnered with Macroview to launch a corporate-grade leased-line cloud service based on our comprehensive network infrastructure,” said Jennifer Tan, COO of Hutchison Telecommunications Hong Kong.
“Our role as a cloud network service enabler is demonstrated by connecting customers to the Microsoft Azure cloud platform via WiseNET, a network service of the highest international Ethernet specifications.”
Pre-integration of the HGC Metro Ethernet network WiseNET with the Microsoft Azure cloud platform means customers will be able to connect via WiseNET CloudConnect within a short period, without hefty investment in network integration and equipment, said the companies.
