TalkTalk signs MVNO agreement with Telefónica

TalkTalk has signed an MVNO agreement with Telefónica, allowing it to offer 4G services to UK customers.

The agreement gives TalkTalk access to Telefónica’s 2G, 3G and 4G services in the UK. TalkTalk hopes the deal will help advance its plans to offer quad-play packages, encompassing fixed-line, broadband, TV and mobile services.

"We are ideally placed to benefit from the market shift to quad-play, with a sizeable and growing number of customers already choosing to take mobile from us," said Dido Harding, CEO of TalkTalk.

"We see real opportunities in both the near term and further out, to work with Telefónica UK to further accelerate our quad-play growth.”

The move could see TalkTalk move away from a similar agreement with Vodafone Group, with the new arrangement with Telefónica said to provide the UK operator with more power to manage the network, according to Bloomberg.
