Deadline extended for Liberty Global’s Ziggo bid

Liberty Global’s offer period for Dutch cable operator Ziggo has reportedly been extended to November 4.

The bid was originally expected to end on September 10, but has been extended on account that not all conditions for the bid have yet been met, most notably approval from the European Commission (EC).

In May, the commission launched a more in-depth review of the $6.8 billion takeover bid, after an initial investigation raised anti-competition concerns.

In June, Liberty reportedly offered to sell off its Film1 pay-TV channel, as part of its concessions to gain approval for the bid.
