KT decides against bid for Tunisie Telecom

South Korea’s second-largest mobile operator, KT, has decided against bidding for a stake in Tunisie Telecom, Reuters reports.

KT said in September last year that it was in talks to acquire a 35% stake in state-owned Tunisie Telecom.

Dubai Holdings' Emirates International Telecommunications acquired the stake for $2.25 billion in 2006 and is divesting it in an effort to reduce debt.

Earlier this week KT and NSN announced that they had jointly demonstrated what is claimed to be the world’s first TDD-FDD carrier aggregation.
