Zayo deepens fibre footprint in the east of London

Bandwidth infrastructure provider Zayo has announced that it is expanding its fibre footprint in the network east of London by building a 53 mile fibre network in London, Essex.

Zayo’s extended network which stretches between the UK towns of Stratford, Romford and Thurrock, will be fully operational in the second quarter of 2014.

The news follows the company’s partnership with C4L in December last year to provide dark fibre backhaul to connect 27 C4L data centres between London Docklands and Slough in the UK.

“The UK is a critical market for Zayo and we are committed to investing in bandwidth-intensive regions like Basildon,” said Glenn Russo, executive VP of corporate strategy and development at Zayo.
