LIME delivers cloud storage to Jamaican ministry

Cable & Wireless Communications (CWC), operating as LIME in Jamaica, is to deliver cloud-based services to the country’s ministry of science, technology, energy and mining (MSTEM).

The cloud service is designed to reduce MSTEM’s data storage costs, by storing all emails securely on a remote server.

MSTEM staff are now expected to be able to store up to 25GB of emails in their inboxes and send attachments of up to 50MB. LIME will provide 24/7 support.

Garry Sinclair, CEO at LIME Jamaica, said: “This contract win is a solid endorsement of LIME’s ability to provide services to public and private-sector organisations across the Caribbean.”

LIME has worked closely with the Jamaican government this year. Earlier in April, the Jamaica Constabulary Force rolled out LIME’s hosted email service to its 11,000 staff.

LIME also launched its payTV service in the Cayman Islands in April.
