NTT Com Russia to launch data centre services in Moscow

NTT Communications’ Russian subsidiary is set to launch data centre services in IXcellerate’s Moscow data centre.

IXcellerate’s Moscow One carrier-neutral data centre began operating in November 2012, and NTT Com Russia will initially roll out collocation services via the data centre in May this year.

“Moscow is experiencing a large influx of corporate and content-rich media companies who require bandwidth to handle their surging data traffic,” said Tetsuo Sano, general director at NTT Com Russia.

“NTT Com Russia needs enterprise-class data centre capacity to serve these customers, so it was a natural decision for us to link our network and services with IXcellerate’s new high-quality facility.”

Sano said that NTT Com Russia would provide its network, cloud and hosting services to a significantly broader range of companies via the data centre.

“With a network covering most of the globe, the presence of NTT Com Russia in our new Moscow One facility...means we can provide exceptional connectivity options for our customers,” said Cliff Gauntlett, COO at IXcellerate.

“Our partnership with NTT Com Russia will enable Moscow’s dynamic business community to secure the very best in data centre services whilst achieving greater efficiencies and cost-savings through the effective hosting, management and day-to-day running of their IT.”

In February this year, Mastertel announced it was to establish a PoP in IXcellerate’s Moscow data centre.
