Turk Telekom subject to anti-competition probe

Turkey’s competition board has commenced a probe against Turk Telekom after it received complaints that the company has been exploiting its leadership position.

Complaints have been made against the company with regards to its strategy in setting up wholesale tariffs to long distance call provider companies, and the board has since opened proceedings.

Turk Telekom is 31.68% state-owned by the Turkish Treasury, but according to Reuters, it plans to sell a 7% stake.

Saudi Arabian company Oger holds a majority stake in Turk Telekom.
