Syniverse establishes two PoPs in India for IPX

Solutions provider Syniverse has established two PoPs for its IP packet exchange (IPX) networks in Bangalore and Mumbai, India.

IPX solutions are becoming ever more prominent in the market as a way to extend global reach, enhance quality of experience and decrease consumer costs.

The Syniverse PRIME IPX Network Solution provides carrier-connection to Syniverse via a global all-IP network that serves over 80 MSPs worldwide. Syniverse PRIME IPX will also enable users to access its mobile services, including those integrated within the MSP LTE solutions.

“With the myriad of network types that exist in the Indian marketplace and 4G roll-outs on the horizon, an IPX connection is the only way mobile service providers in India can ensure long-term interoperability and interworking,” said Syniverse COO Alfred de Cárdenas.

“By choosing Syniverse for IPX connectivity, MSPs will realise cost savings from connecting closer to their operations and enhance end-user quality of experience due to regionalisation of network traffic.”

The PoPs in India will also enable mobile service providers to connect to 3G, 4G, IP and signalling services.

Syniverse claims partnering companies will benefit from cost savings by using the service, particularly because they will now not incur costs of implementing an IPX connection outside of their domestic region. There will also be benefits of regional roaming traffic that is routed locally, minimising delays.

“With consumer demands for seamless, always-on mobile services at an all-time high, MSPs must consider new ways to deliver advanced services to end users while maximising efficiency,” added John Wick, SVP, network at Syniverse.
