Qtel Group has appointed Ahmed Al-Derbesti as chief operating officer. He will report directly to the group CEO and is tasked with supporting the group’s efforts in customer experience, innovation in performance management and broadband technologies.
Al-Derbesti has been at Qtel Qatar since 1985, holding a variety of positions including executive director of group strategy, where he took responsibility for the group’s early expansion outside of Qatar, as well as executive director of customer care, executive director of international services and chief officer of wholesale and international services.
