Rostelecom to acquire Chita-on-line

Russian carrier Rostelecom has entered into an agreement to acquire 100% of Chita-on-line, an alternative operator in the country’s Chita region, for approximately $4.3 million.

Chita-on-line has a 228.8km optical network covering the entire Chita city area and provides FTTB and ETTH broadband access, as well as pay-TV and telecoms services.

On May 31 the operator had 8,100 broadband and 4,900 pay-TV subscribers, growing 19% and 22% respectively. This amounted to 11% broadband and 10% pay-TV market share in Chita.

The company generated revenue of RUB 61.7 million with EBITDA increasing 26% year-on-year to RUB 16.6 million in 2011.

Rostelecom’s subsidiaries AMT and Westelecom will acquire all of the shares of Chita-on-line from private investors.
