OpenDNS launches security solution for carriers
Internet security company OpenDNS has launched its CarrierSecure solution designed to make it easier for carriers to deliver cloud-based security protection.
Among the services telcos can offer through the solution are opt-in web filtering, phishing, malware and botnet protection across wired and wireless networks. CarrierSecure is also able to offer 3G/4G filtering for mobile devices.
OpenDNS developed the solution due to mounting demand for its services among ISPs and telecoms companies, including mobile carriers.
“Partnerships are a tremendous growth area for OpenDNS and I’m excited for the potential of CarrierSecure,” said OpenDNS CEO David Ulevitch.
“We created this program as a more formal way to establish large, global partnerships and help deliver OpenDNS’s many benefits broadly. From faster, more reliable DNS to customisable parental controls and internet security, we’re confident CarrierSecure will bring OpenDNS to many more people.”
Mark Kreitzman, formerly head of alliances at Cisco and Scansafe, has joined the company as head of global alliances to lead the development of the platform.
