Telecoms equipment and software market will reach $209.1 billion by 2015

The global telecoms and datacoms equipment market is expected to make $209.1 billion in revenue by 2015, according to a report from research firm Infonetics.

In 2010, the equipment and software market generated revenues of $160.1 billion, highlighting an increase of 6% from 2009.

The market will grow at a CAGR of 5.5% over the next four years. Service providers’ mobile and wireless infrastructure, along with enterprise and data centre networks, are expected to contribute the largest portion of the total revenue.

Jeff Wilson, principal analyst at Infonetics Research, said: “Growth through [to] 2015 is fuelled by a wide variety of product segments, from communications and security in the enterprise, to service provider IMS (IP multimedia subsystems), routing, switching and Ethernet.” By 2015, spending in enterprise equipment is predicted to grow by 34% of the total.
