Huawei boosts Chinese networks

Huawei has partnered with China Telecom to optimise its CDMA network in the Chinese city of Shenzehn

The network enhancements have been made in time for the Shenzehn Summer Universiade, the global university sporting event, which will see peak data and voice traffic levels.

China Telecom is using the Chinese vendor’s intelligent storm solution which enables its network to manage ten times the volume of traffic as well as improving paging success rate. As part of the network optimisation, voice experience was improved with a differential QoS.

Wu Hui, president of CDMA & LTE, Huawei, said: “The CDMA network optimization solutions Huawei provided for China Telecom will improve network quality and subscriber service experience.”

The Chinese vendor has also announced the launch of an LTE TDD trial network for China Mobile, also in Shenzehn.

Huawei will provide the operator with an end-to-end solution and, it claims, it is the first vendor to complete network testing and launch 110 sites.

Deng Taihua, president of WiMAX and TDS and LTE, Huawei, commenting on the success of the LTE TDD trials said: “We are proud of this successful launch as it helps move the industry forward by demonstrating the high quality performance of LTE TDD networks, as we believe that LTE TDD will play a crucial role in the future development of mobile broadband.”
