John Stanton, Clearwire

Clearwire, which provides 4G wireless broadband in the US, has appointed John Stanton as interim CEO.




Stanton is also the chairman of Clearwire’s board of directors and will continue to serve in this role alongside his his new position. In his previous role, Stanton was CEO of US mobile operator, Western Wireless and VoiceStream Wireless. Stanton replaces Bill Morrow who recently resigned from his position as CEO and director of the board citing personal reasons. Morrow will stay on as an adviser through the transition period. During his time at Clearwire, Morrow was responsible for building the first US 4G network, in addition to boosting subscribers to the company by 5 million.
