"Marketing Campaigns Manager is an essential tool which will empower mobile operators to create stronger engagement with their subscribers and ultimately capture new revenue streams. We believe that the development of this solution reinforces our position as a one-stop provider for mobile and carrier services," explains Juan Carlos Bernal, CEO of Telefónica International Wholesale Services.

Telefónica says that the mobile market is experiencing rapid transformation which is largely driven by competitive pressures from alternative communication services. This coupled with fast changing consumer behaviour and expectations from customers when using their mobile devices, make the need for such a solution even more important.

In response to these trends Marketing Campaigns Manager enables mobile operators to augment their service delivery to increase customer satisfaction whilst retaining commercial advantage and capturing new revenues.

In addition, the new offering enables operators to monetise each subscriber interaction with real-time marketing, through multiple channels and allowing them to make a variety of different purchases at any time. Use cases for these solutions include: sponsored data, loyalty rewards, silent roamers, data offers management, data sharing plans and location-based offers.

Recently, Telefónica’s Brazilian division unveiled its plans to spend £5.2 billion in capital expenditure over the next three years as it looks to boost fibre penetration in the country.
