Cable & Wireless Communications’ (CWC) business unit in Panama has trialled copper-based broadband services.
Wireless Panama (CWP) partnered with Huawei to deploy what they
claim to be Latin America’s first trial of G.fast
technology using existing copper infrastructure.
technology trial ran for two months in Panama using Huawei's
multi-service access node equipment. It was said to achieve
high speeds averaging 500Mbps to download and 150Mbps to

completed testing of the G.fast technology, which can deliver
high speeds, to its customers through the fastest copper based
fixed line broadband technology across the region reaching
