The South African group will use the proceeds to build fibre broadband networks in countries across the region.
“Our fibre to the home is better than many parts of the UK and even London,” said Nic Rudnick, Liquid Telecom’s CEO. The group aims to connect 100,000 homes with broadband speeds of up to 100Mbps by the end of the year.
In October last year, Liquid Telecom announced a $34 million investment strategy for Rwanda which includes the expansion of its network in the country, as well as what is claimed to be the first fibre-to-the-home (FTTH) service in Rwanda.
