Deployment is due to start this month, and the network is expected to reach speeds of up to 300Mbps as a result.
Roberto Muñoz, CEO at Movistar Chile, said that the roll-out will complement the operator’s existing LTE network in the 2GHz band for which is now has 300,000 customers.
The network is due to be commercially available by the end of next year.
Movistar launched its initial 4G network in Chile in November 2013.
