NTT Comm facilitates 100GE IP transit for Hetzner Online

Web hosting provider and data centre operator Hetzner Online has selected NTT Communications’ (NTT Comm) for the delivery of 100GE IP transit services.

NTT Comm claims to be the first Tier-1 global provider of 100GE connectivity to Hetzner Online, and the German firm expects the partnership to support its strategy for rapid growth in the country.

“This is a great opportunity to demonstrate the technical capabilities and global reach of our global IP network and support Hetzner Online’s demand for higher network capacity,” said Clive Hamilton, VP of network services – EMEA at NTT Europe.

“NTT Communications led the way a few years ago in the transition to 10GE ports and we are leading again with 100GE technology.”

Hetzner Online has customers in more than 150 countries and Martin Hetzner, CEO at the company, said that the partnership with NTT Comm comes as a result of an increasing volume of data traffic.

“We plan to use 100GE connections for all future uplinks to avoid potential congestions,” Hetzner said.

“With this new 100GE connectivity and NTT Comm’s world-class services, Hetzner Online is able to quickly and cost-effectively meet our customers’ traffic demands in Germany and abroad at any time.”

NTT Comm’s global IP network is consistently ranked among the world’s top networks, and in 2014 launched a PoP in Luxembourg built exclusively on 100GE network links.
