Bluebird Network has appointed former zColo SVP Bruce Garrison to the newly created role of chief revenue officer.

Taking responsibility for sales, sales engineering, business development and marketing Garrison, will also head Bluebird’s underground data centre strategy.

Garrison joins from Zayo Group’s colocation segment, zColo where we held the position of senior vice president of global partners, which included the company’s global reach team, international carriers and the indirect channel.

Prior to Zayo, Garrison was VP and head of international services for GTS Central Europe based in Prague, until its acquisition by Deutsche Telekom, and Garrison has held senior leadership roles at EarthLink Business and Cavalier Telephone Corporation.

“Bluebird is eager to have someone with Bruce’s sales and marketing prowess join our growing team,” said Michael Morey, President and CEO of Bluebird Network. “Bruce’s vast and varied experience will be an integral part of Bluebird’s continued success as we expand our network infrastructure and data center.”

Bluebird acquired its first underground data centre in 2014. Located 26 metres underground, the SOC 2 Type 2 Certified facility cannot be imaged by satellites and features private streets within the mine to block public access
