With operations in more than 105 countries, AstraQom said the new HQ will specifically meet the needs of clients in Argentina, Chile, Colombia, Dominican Republic, El Salvador, Guatemala, Ecuador, Honduras, Mexico, Nicaragua, Panama, Peru and Venezuela.
Dr. Vickylextar Okang-Sowah, AstraQom’s VP for corporate relations, said: “2019 proved to be a record-breaking year of growth for AstraQom around the world with a particularly higher than expected growth in Latin America. The decision to open our Latin American headquarters is a logical step in our business growth strategy.”
The multi-national holding company was established in 2008 as a Canadian communications solutions provider. Today it is the world's largest local business VoIP provider and telecommunications cloud architecture operator.
In 2016 the firm upgraded its Silicon Valley HQ, expanded into Brazil and launched operations in the Philippines.
The new San Juan office is located in the downtown area of San Juan, which AstraQom said featured “lovely views of the ocean providing a relaxing location for the staff”.
Okang-Sowah added: “For over a decade, AstraQom has consistently provided unique business telecom services around the world starting from Canada and now servicing the needs of businesses in over 100 countries and still adding more this year.
“Our commitment to the provision of quality and relevant support to our valued clients fuelled the decision to add a new regional headquarters to target the needs of our clients located in South America and Central America. Having a strong focused team residing in the region and coordinating the efforts of our country subsidiaries is very crucial to us.”
