Awareness around diversity issues, particularly the lack of female representation in leadership roles are at the forefront of many telco and technology businesses’ agendas. Consequently, there are different initiatives that are not just a check off-item but that are having a tangible impact on women in the workforce. This session, will explore the types of diversity initiatives driving change across The City and what is needed to continue to drive change.
HOW IS MENTORING IMPROVING GENDER BALANCE?
The 30% club cross-company mentoring programme is the world’s largest mentoring programme. The scheme attracts more than 4,000 mentors and mentees from over 235 organisations. This session, will provide programme highlights, insights, challenges and perspectives of how mentoring can help advance gender balance at junior and senior levels.

A panel of senior leaders and entrepreneurs discuss the strategies to improve gender diversity across the industry. The panellists will draw upon their own personal experiences to highlight strategies that have been particularly successful to improve gender diversity in their organisations. The discussion will also focus on strategies to attract young talent.

This session will enable attendees to continue the dialogue on strategies to improve gender diversity in the industry. At the end of the session attendees will have the opportunity to share their learnings with the group.

Re-joining the workforce after taking a career break can be a daunting experience. The path to re-joinging the same business or looking for a different opportunity is not straightforward. It is also a challenge for companies hoping to attract women returning to the workforce. The benefits for companies wishing to retain and attract experienced female leaders is clear, companies that have a high gender diversity at the level of decision-making perform much better. In this context, businesses in the telco and tech sector need a clear strategy to help women re-join the workforce. This session will address effective strategies to solve this key issue.
