Why Cape Town?
South Africa is undergoing a period of strong colocation market growth. With recent announcements from Microsoft, Google, Huawei, Liquid Telecom and AWS over the last 12 months alone, as well as the region being a known hub for subsea, fibre, data centre and cloud activity, it was a unanimous decision to bring Capacity Media and BroadGroup's event to Cape Town.
"We are truly excited about this event which brings a focus to our efforts in several infrastructure areas across Africa: subsea, fibre, data centre and cloud. We look forward to engaging our various partners on the continent in an event with singular focus on infrastructure in Africa.”
Funke Opeke, CEO, MAINONE
Two webinars now available to view!
Webinar: The African Data Centre Boom
Data centre builds are taking off across Africa. There is already an unequal distribution of data centres throughout the continent, with the majority of hyperscalers focused on the South African market as their primary target. This session will look into the impact of data centres being developed in South Africa and analyse the next likely regions for development.
Webinar: The New Age of African Subsea
The subsea cable industry in Africa has been slow to develop in the last 10 years, likely because it is difficult to make a business case for building new cables without the demand for capacity. This is beginning to change and we are seeing renewed interest in investing, largely from OTTs. Is this the start of a new era of investment and cable builds across the continent?
