NTT names Miriam Murphy as European CEO

NTT has announced the appointment of Miriam Murphy as its new European CEO.

Murphy has more than 25 years of IT experience and joins NTT from Tech Data where she was a member of the European Executive Board and served as senior vice president for the advanced and specialised solutions business.

Murphy was responsible for go-to-market strategy and P&L management, spanning data centre and next-generation technology solutions portfolios including cloud, internet of things, analytics, security collaboration and associated services.

Former AT&T exec Hetrick joins Strategic Venue Partners

Strategic Venue Partners (SVP) has recruited former AT&T executive Kevin Hetrick as its new COO.

Hetrick has a background in engineering, design and operating wireless infrastructure and will help the company to secure fast, secure and bespoke wireless solutions.

Before joining SVP Hetrick served in a number of management positions at AT&T in his 25 years with the company, most recently holding the position of vice president of radio access engineering and construction.

Justin Marron, founder and CEO of SVP said: "Throughout his career, Hetrick has done significant work for AT&T on their national radio access network, with a strong in-building and venue space component.

"When it comes to wireless infrastructure, there is very little he has not touched or been a part of over his tenure.

“While he brings impeccable technical depth, Hetrick also possesses strong operational capabilities, which will bolster and streamline our ability to meet the fast-growing, mission critical enterprise demand for wireless-connectivity-as-a-service solutions."

HGC Group appoints Wong as VP of solutions

HGC Global Communications has appointed Alvin Wong as executive vice president of solutions and product development.

Wong has been in the ICT industry for 30 years and has served as commercial director of HGC Group’s Macroview Telecom, one of the largest digital technology solution and managed service providers in Hong Kong since 2020.

He will now lead HGC Group’s solutions development and solution consulting functions while also leading its ICT solutions pre-sales, ICT partner alliance and business development teams as well as the CSU and logistics and sales support team.

Ooredoo Group makes new executive appointments

Ooredoo Group has announced the appointment of Ahmad Al-Neama as group regional CEO, Bilal Kazmi as group chief commercial officer and Eyas Assaf as executive director of performance management.

Al-Neama has been with Ooredoo for almost two decades, taking up senior roles, most recently as CEO of Indosat Ooredoo where he spearheaded the businesses’ turnaround and signed strategic partnerships with various international organisations.

Al-Neama will now be responsible for the P&L of six markets including Algeria, Tunisia, Palestine, Myanmar and Maldives.

Kazmi was acting group chief commercial officer since July 2021 and has over 25 years’ worth of international experience in leadership roles.

He will now drive commercial transformation to accelerate growth across key areas such as customer centricity, sales and distribution and digital leadership.

Assaf has rejoined the company as executive director for performance management and OG finance. Prior to this he served as Indosat Ooredoo’s CFO and was a key member of the management team responsible for its business performance and the merger with CK Hutchinson.

GTT hires Ken Bisnoff as SVP for Americas division

GTT has announced it has recruited Ken Bisnoff as the new senior vice president and channel chief for the Americas division.

Bisnoff holds over 30 years’ worth of experience in telecoms, including a 20-year tenure at TPx Communications where he was a founding member of the executive team and served as senior vice president.

Jim Delis, president of GTT’s Americas division said: “Ken Bisnoff is among the most respected figures in the telecommunications industry and has been recognized in the channel community numerous times for his leadership contributions.

“His extensive industry experience and far-reaching network of connections will be a great asset to GTT as we continue to invest in the indirect channel, where we believe GTT offers unique value to our partners and customers as a provider of global connectivity and managed services.”

Mariusz Gatza appointed CEO of Orange Slovakia

Mariusz Gatza, the current CEO of Orange Moldova has been appointed as the new CEO of Orange Slovakia.  

Gatza has 20 years of experience at Orange Poland and will take the role on April 1st, 2022 from Federico Colom.

He has held various senior roles in the company including deputy CEO in charge of the business and consumer markets and was also responsible for introducing major innovative offers like Orange Love and Orange Flex.

Colom said of the appointment: “Sustainable growth is key in our industry. “We are able to achieve this through satisfied customers and the deployment of meaningful innovations in our comprehensive offering, such as 5G, smart services or cybersecurity."
