Deutsche Telekom has revealed it will offer its wholesale services to Moldtelecom as part of an exclusive partnership.

Deutsche Telekom will collect voice traffic from the networks of international operators for Moldtelecom and will provide anti-fraud services to the company with the aim of preventing, identifying and terminating cases of fraud to protect international voice traffic.

The agreement was made following an “extensive tender procedure” and was welcomed by the director of the Public Property Agency Eugeniue Cozonac.

He said: "Thanks to this lasting partnership, Moldtelecom will benefit from advantageous commercial conditions for terminating the traffic generated by its subscribers, to all international destinations.

“I am convinced that this will improve the quality of telephone services. In addition, the connection of the Republic of Moldova with the rest of the world is absolutely important at the corporate level as well."

Nicholas Nikrouyan, vice president of voice and mobile solutions at Deutsche Telekom Global Carrier added that he was surprised by the speed and professionalism of the entire process. He believes that the technical specialists of both companies are already working hard to integrate the new services.

"We are pleased to work with Moldtelecom S.A. in our United Voice Partnering program. We will make the most of the significant investment made in our state-of-the-art platform, systems and people for the benefit of customers,” he said.

“Due to the fact that the termination of international voice traffic will go through few connections, the quality of the telephone connection will increase significantly. We look forward to the results of our partnership that will contribute to the growth and development of both companies in the European market.”

The announcement builds on news from earlier in the month where Deutsche Telekom announced it would partner with Eutelsat for the distribution of high-speed satellite broadband in Germany.

Under the terms of the agreement, Deutsche Telekom will deliver EUTELSAT KONNECT high-speed broadband Internet offers to households in Germany with limited internet connection, as of the end of 2021.
