Paulina Molnar is the interim chief financial officer at Rogers Communications, following the departure of Tony Staffieri, effective Wednesday.

Prior to the move, Molnar, who has been with Rogers for 16 years, was the firm's SVP controller and risk management.

She brings 26 years of industry experience to the interim CFO role across financial controls, business support, internal audit, enterprise risk management, business continuity and corporate security.

Staffieri and Rogers did not give a reason for his abrupt departure, but did say that the firm's next financial results – due for release on 21 October – are "in-line with the outlook provided on July 21, 2021".

“On behalf of the Rogers team, I thank Tony for the many contributions he made to our company including ensuring the integrity of our financial reporting over the nearly 10 years he served as our CFO,” said Joe Natale, president and CEO of Rogers Communications Inc.

“We wish him well in his future endeavours and look forward to building on the strong foundation he helped lay for us.”

Rogers this year embarked on the $26 billion acquisition of Shaw Communications’ class A and B shares, with shareholders approving the deal in May.
