MainOne is set to launch its Appolonia Data Center, the latest facility of its MDXi subsidiary.
The new site, which is located 20km from the centre of Accra, Ghana will expand MainOne’s infrastructure and services profile in West Africa.
It is built to cater for the increasing demand of colocation and interconnection services by multinationals and businesses seeking shared services for their ICT resources.
Speaking on the launch, Gbenga Adegbiji, chief operating officer for MDXi, said: “Appolonia will provide a highly-secured, resilient and scalable solution for our customers. The Tier 3 data centre will be based on the proven MDXi standard operating procedures (SOP) which have provided 100% facility uptime.”
Set for launch this month, the 100-rack Appolonia site will support a global network of customers, partners and suppliers, said the firm.
Emmanuel Kwarteng, country manager for MainOne Ghana, said: “This facility will create jobs and ultimately contribute to the economic growth of Ghana. All data centre staff are directly employed by the company and are trained on the latest technology deployed to keep the data centre running smoothly.”
Remote Hands and Eyes Support services are available for customers to troubleshoot or perform various maintenance activities to ensure their equipment operates as expected.
