Angola Cables is now offering a global data centre interconnection (GDI) service, leveraging its direct link to major international data centres and PoPs in the network.

Providing point-to-point or point-to-multipoint, the development means network providers, ISPs, OTTs, CDNs, hyperscalers, financial institutions and others, can host multiple connectivity options to access content, products and services available using the transatlantic network ring (US-Brazil-Europe-Africa).

They will also have direct access to more than 20 connected data centres, across three continents – the Americas, Europe and Africa.

In Latin America the data centres will include AngoNAP Fortaleza, Ascenty Fortaleza 1, Ascenty São Paulo 1, Ascenty São Paulo 2, Ascenty São Paulo 3, Equinix São Paulo SP2, Equinix São Paulo SP3, Equinix São Paulo SP4 and Equinix Rio de Janeiro RJ2.

Ângelo Gama – appointed CEO of Angola Cables after António Nunes was promoted to the board – said that with service availability of 99.5%, the GDI solution presents an opportunity for businesses and enterprises to access international markets through express connections.

‘’Companies looking to access extensive digital content and services using the same connectivity and collocation solution can do so - and at the same time save costs in terms of capital expenditure on hardware and other services usually required when it comes to cross-border IT expansion,” Gama said.

The GDI solution can also be combined with other services such as colocation and network security solutions to offer customers and enterprises a suite of turnkey services tailored to their individual network requirements.
