BT promotes Chet Patel to run Americas operation
23 March 2021 | Alan Burkitt-Gray
BT has appointed Chet Patel to head its operation in the Americas, replacing Jennifer Artley, who has moved to Verizon Business.
Patel (pictured) has been chief commercial officer at the global services division of BT, reporting to CEO Bas Burger, and has now taken on both of Artley’s roles, as managing director for the technology, life sciences and business services sector and president for the Americas.
Yesterday Capacity reported that Artley has moved to Verizon Business, where she is now senior VP of strategic initiatives.
She told Capacity: “It was a personal decision based on the opportunity that presented itself. Nothing more to read into!”
Previously, Patel was the president for BT’s European operations, as well as heading its portfolio and marketing team, working closely with the group’s largest global customers.
He first joined BT in 2005, according to his LinkedIn entry. A decade ago he was managing director of BT Wholesale Markets.
In 2017, as BT started to unravel the scandal that caused it to write off £530 million in the Italian operation of BT Global Services, he became its global transformation officer and president of continental Europe.
Dave Disley, based in Dallas, is BT’s chief operating officer for the Americas and runs the company’s global telecommunications vertical.
