Enterprise technology company, Lumen Technologies will integrate IBM Cloud Satellite with its Lumen Edge Compute platform to enable customers to access hybrid cloud services in near real-time and build solutions at the edge.
By combining the deployment flexibility of IBM Cloud Satellite and Lumen’s edge platform, adaptive networking and connected security capabilities, Lumen’s customers will the options and speed in when securely accessing IBM Cloud at the edge.
Through this collaboration customers can deploy applications across Lumen’s 180,000 edge locations, create cloud-enabled solutions at the edge that use application management and orchestration via IBM Cloud Satellite, and they can build open, interoperable platforms that give customers greater deployment flexibility and more seamless access to cloud native services like AI, IoT end edge computing.

IBM Cloud Satellite delivers a secured, unifying layer of cloud services for clients across environments, regardless of where their data resides, as clients address critical data privacy and data sovereignty requirements.
Customers benefit from reduced latency that comes with analysing data securely at the edge, while still requiring enterprise users to have the same levels of security, data privacy, interoperability and open standards found in a hybrid cloud environment.
In addition, IBM confirms it is working with more than 65 enterprises from its partner ecosystem including, Dell Technologies and Intel, to build secure cloud services via IBM Cloud Satellite. The company also confirms the availability of IBM Cloud Pak for Data as-a-Service with IBM Cloud Satellite, giving customers a flexible, secure way to run their AI and analytics workloads as services across multiple environments.
