All 25 communities of Nunavut will benefit from the multi-year agreement and added capacity, a need further driven by the Covid-19 crisis leading to an unprecedented need for reliable internet and mobile communications as more locals work and study from home.

Under the new agreement, SSi Canada will gain a significant increase in its satellite capacity, enhancing its ability to better serve customers and futureproof its offerings. The new SES-SSi satellite footprint covers more than Nunavut, enabling further connectivity improvements across various parts of Canada.
“Thanks to timely regulatory approvals from the Canadian Government, we are now working hard to bring this new capacity online as quickly as possible,” continued Philipp.

SES has delivers data services across Canada in a variety of spectrum bands over its satellite fleet. Its C-band offerings are capable of providing the capacity needed for communities and businesses in Canada to maintain and strengthen their communications infrastructure.
