Orange Moldova names Mariusz Gaca as new CEO

Mariusz Gaca (pictured), the current vice president of the management board of Orange Polska (Poland), has been appointed CEO of Orange Moldova, effective as of 1st November 2020.

Gaca enters the role with 20 years’ experience at Orange Polska. He has held various senior positions at the company over the last 11 years, including leading the business and consumer markets as well as being responsible for introducing major innovative offers like Orange Love and Orange Flex.

He started his career at the Elektrim Group, where he co-created business plans for local telcos, between 1995 and 2000.

From 2001 he worked at TP Group (Telekomunikacja Polska) as director of multimedia and was responsible for the development of Internet access for the mass market. Between 2005 and 2009 he was responsible for the TP Group business market. From 2009 he was TP group executive director in charge of sales and customer service and president of the management board of PTK Centertel.

From 2014 to 2016, he was the vice president of the Orange Polska management board in charge of the business market.

At the same time, Julien Ducarroz has been named as CEO of Orange Polska as approved by it management board.

Julien Ducarroz will remain in his current position as CEO of Orange Moldova until he takes up his new post at Orange Polska on 1st September 2020. 

In related news, Orange is in the process of moving to open RAN in its African mobile networks, which will enable operators able to offer 4G and potentially 5G as well as older generations.

The company has enlisted US-based Parallel Wireless to install open radio access network (O-RAN) equipment across the region, starting with the Central African Republic (CAR).
