iconectiv has announced that two of its employees have been selected to take part in the Women in Cable Telecommunications’ (WICT) 2020 Rising Leaders Program.

Sharon Oddy, head of marketing and corporate communications, and Kim Carter, senior software developer, will join other industry leaders for the immersion program that prepares women to undertake increased leadership responsibilities.

“I’m fortunate to work for a company that empowers its employees to make meaningful and long-lasting contributions that not only bring the company’s vision to life but also define and shape the future of the communications industry,” said Oddy.

“The investment that iconectiv puts into its team defines the company’s culture – where every team member truly has a voice and an opportunity to rise to the level of accomplishment worthy of being named to the WICT Rising Leaders Program.”

The program helps participants create and manage their own personalised leadership development plans through a combination of leadership analysis and skill development.

Additionally, WICT commissions original gender research, and supports a B2B network that helps advance women.

“WICT provides a great opportunity to grow our professional capabilities, build strategic relationships and celebrate diversity in communications,” added Carter.

“Along with my team, we have put forth a tremendous effort to support a number of iconectiv initiatives, including LNPA, and it is enough just to be nominated by colleagues. Selected to participate in the Rising Leaders Program and join other established leaders in the cable and telecom industry is truly an honour.”

The news also marks the fourth year in a row that iconectiv, a provider of network planning and management services, leaders have been chosen to participate.
