Crosslake Fibre’s Lake Ontario network is an unrepeated subsea cable system, the first across Lake Ontario to directly connect Toronto, Canada and Buffalo, New York with dark fibre.

Hylan, a communications engineering and construction services provider, has built 40 miles of fibre-optic infrastructure at the shore end in New York state, which completed the link that provides an alternate route connecting Canada to the US.

In July of this year, Crosslake Fibre named BSO Networks as its exclusive partner to deliver Crosslake’s Velocity – a new low-latency network between Toronto and New Jersey.
The new offering delivers connectivity to the financial services market and takes advantage of the shorter build across Lake Ontario to provide route diversity and better latency in comparison to the legacy terrestrial networks that route around the Lake between Toronto and New York.
