Leaseweb has chosen maincubes AMS01 data centre as the location to expand its data centre presence in Amsterdam.

The news comes after Leaseweb announced the opening of new data centre facility in Miami earlier this year to expand its hosting capabilities in the US and to create a future pathway to South America.

“maincubes is one of the few independent European colocation data centre operators still left in the Amsterdam area, and is a company that has the same entrepreneurial spirit as Leaseweb,” said Arno Witvliet, managing director of Leaseweb Netherlands. “We like their pure-play colocation focus, as well as the data centre amenities they have in place, like an N+1+1 generator infrastructure setup, for example. It fits the high-quality and high-availability standards Leaseweb has set for the hosting solutions we deliver from our data centres globally.”

Additionally, Leaseweb recently completed the network expansion of its Amsterdam AM-S01 data centre, another facility in the area. The project builds on Leaseweb’s rack-to-web redundant global network architecture and is aimed at high bandwidth customers.

“Our data centre infrastructures are engineered for market-leading companies, with a keen eye for detail meeting enterprise requirements,” said Oliver Menzel (pictured), CEO of maincubes. “We proudly welcome Leaseweb to our Amsterdam facility as a market leader on a global level, and we appreciate their acknowledgment of the high-standard data centre quality being established.”

Last month, CDN77 selected maincubes as its colocation partner for establishing a point of presence (PoP) in Frankfurt, Germany.

“The entrepreneurial culture we see at Leaseweb is surely meeting maincubes’ own culture and operations, it’s a good match,” said Joris te Lintelo, vice president sales at maincubes and responsible for the Amsterdam facility.“ At maincubes, customers can choose whichever brands or infrastructural setups they prefer. We tend to adapt our data centre operations flexibly to customer needs, something we recognise in the customer-oriented hosting solutions delivered by Leaseweb.”
