Telefónica extends carrier footprint in connectivity drive

Telefónica’s wholesale business unit, Telefónica International Wholesale Services (TIWS), has extended the global reach of its internet access for resale service to over 30 countries, delivering direct presence in Latin America and Europe.

TIWS will use the service to enable other carriers to extend their footprint and enhance their connectivity portfolio to deliver internet access to their customers located all over the world.

The TIWS proposition is also being further enhanced with a new service model called Broadband for Business for those accesses that do not require top-class SLAs or guaranteed bandwidth, and will gradually be made available in countries within Telefónica’s footprint.

With the additional alternative resale option, TIWS can offer its Internet Access service at two different commercial levels, depending on the functionalities required by the customer.

The enhancement complements the existing Dedicated Internet Access service already offered by TIWS, which enables customers to reach the internet by using a combination of its own Tier 1 network capabilities and other ISP services.

The wholesale unit recently launched TUKU Web, its new in-house anti-fraud solution, and announced that Vivo, a Brazilian mobile operator, has rolled out TIWS' Marketing Campaigns Manager service.
