Bluebird Network, a telco based in the Midwest, has completed a new fibre build in Weldon Spring, Missouri.

The newly installed fibre-optic network connects to major commercial areas and delivers reliable broadband services to the Missouri communities of Weldon Spring, Dardenne and Cottleville.

“Weldon Spring is a vibrant and expanding centre for business development in the outer core of St. Louis,” said Michael Morey, president and CEO of Bluebird Network. “Bluebird is excited to bring our fibre even closer to this expanding business centre to support growth and economic opportunity for area businesses.”

The news forms part of Bluebird’s strategy to densify current fibre routes and expand its fibre reach into new and underserved areas. The company has additional densification projects planned throughout the Midwest over the next few years.

Thanks to the Weldon Spring expansion businesses within the St. Charles and St. Louis counties now have easy access to carrier-class network speeds and bandwidth.

“The Bluebird Network team takes pride in providing cutting-edge services to many different businesses, including hospitals, government agencies, banks and other industries,” added Morey. “Our agility and reach have enabled us to rapidly deploy new fibre network services and products as we continue to expand our service in Missouri, Illinois and the surrounding states.”

Bluebird has approximately 6,500 fibre route miles of high-speed broadband, connecting customer locations to each other, to the internet or to its underground data centre. In addition, the company has over 135 point of presence across the Midwest.

Earlier this month, Bluebird Network partnered with Megaport to enable private access to cloud providers such as AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud, Oracle Cloud, Alibaba Cloud, IBM Cloud, Nutanix and Salesforce.

Through the partnership, customers of Bluebird Network and the Bluebird underground data centre, the company’s colocation facility in Springfield, Missouri, connectivity to each of the top tier cloud computing and as-a-service providers.
