Afghanistan's Roshan selects Digitalk Carrier Cloud for wholesale connectivity

Digitalk a provider of cloud-based communications platform as-as-service, announced that Digitalk Carrier Cloud has been selected by Roshan, the Afghanisatan-based telecoms provider for wholesale connectivity.

Digitalk Carrier Cloud replaces Roshan’s legacy solution and gives it access to Digitalk’s Session Border Control (SBC), Business Support Systems (BSS) and Business Intelligence offerings.

“We needed a solution provider that would work in partnership with us to ensure delivery of highest quality international connectivity, while being completely carrier neutral”, said Faiz Hassan, director of international & roaming at Roshan. “Digitalk met all Roshan’s requirements and we look forward to building on our strong and mutually beneficial partnership.”

Roshan offers a suite of high-quality connectivity services to both business and individual consumers. The company says that Digitalk Carrier Cloud is geographically redundant to ensure Roshan delivers the highest level of service performance to its customer base of 6 million.

Digitalk says that it is committed to continued innovation and that Carrier Cloud will constantly evolve to meet the new and emerging needs of its customers such as Roshan. This roadmap, according to the company, is driven through consultation with the Carrier Cloud community, as well as through the leadership of its team.

In July of last year, SpeedCast International, a global satellite communications and network service provider, has entered a multi-year service agreement with Roshan, to upgrade its cellular backhaul network to support 3G services over satellite in Zabul province, southwestern Afghanistan.
