Liquid Telecom names Stephane Duproz as COO of Africa Data Centres

Liquid Telecom, the pan-African telco, has appointed Stephane Duproz as the new chief operating officer of Africa Data Centres (ADC), effective immediately.
In his new role Duproz will oversee the commercial and operational development of ADC’s four existing data centre facilities in Johannesburg, Nairobi, Cape Town and Harare. In addition to growing ADC’s customer base of local and international cloud providers, carriers and enterprises, as well as leading the expansion of ADC’s network of data centres across the continent.
"Africa’s cloud ecosystem is developing rapidly and is now catching the attention of service providers, which are on the lookout for world-class data centre facilities. I’m delighted to be joining Africa Data Centres at such an important moment for the brand, which is perfectly positioned to support the rise of Africa’s Cloud," said Duproz.
He enters the roles with over 20 years’ experience in the data centre sector including a 14 year stint at TelecityGroup. During his time there he acted as managing director of its French subsidiary, leading the company on to become the most profitable data centre operator in the country. After his time with TelecityGroup and prior to joining Liquid he served as group director for Europe at Global Switch.
"Stephane brings a wealth of industry experience from his time in Europe, which will be invaluable to the group as we expand and establish our new data centre brand as a market leader in Africa," said Nic Rudnick, group CEO of Liquid Telecom.
Additionally, Stephane has also served as chairman of the board for the European Data Centre Association, and acted as vice president member of the French Data Centre Association.
ADC is part of the Liquid Telecom Group and was launched in 2018 to address the growing demand for cloud storage and data centre services in Africa.
The group recently appointed Ahmad Mokhles as its new group chief operating officer earlier this month. Mokhles will enter the newly created position effective immediately, and will help to drive operational excellence across the group’s 13 countries of operation. Thereby creating value for its shareholders and delivering new economies of scale.
