The View 78 data centre campus is located in Midvale; a suburb of Salt Lake City. The first phase of the new site will create a 32MW wholesale and hyperscale data colocation offering. Following that plans include the development and operation of up to 160MW of data centre capacity at the new site.

“Our new data centre campus located in the View 78 development in Midvale is designed for both hyperscale and wholesale tenants including cloud service providers, enterprise companies, and other large-scale tenants,” said James Jeffries, president of Cirrus Data Services. “Our product is intended to be scalable and provide an adaptable solution to meet the needs of sophisticated tenants in this sector.”

The new facility has been designed to meet current demands, with Tier III and Tier II topographies. The first phase will include 224,000 sqft of data centre space, a technology load capacity of 32MW, 18,000 sqft of office space and its flexible power distribution and cooling design enable both low-density and high-density racks.

The new site will become the first data centre campus for Cirrus Data Solutions, in the future plans for the site include up to 160MW of capacity with over 1,120,000 sqft of data centre infrastructure and even a second large scale campus in Salt Lake City.

“We are excited to announce the launch of Cirrus Data Services and that we are entering the data centre colocation market. The Salt Lake City data centre market is growing; major firms and organisations are coming to Utah because of the many advantages this State has to offer,” added Christian Gardner, CEO of the Gardner Company.

On the development side of the project, Cirrus Data Solutions has chosen a strong team to assist in this area. In collaboration with Gardner Company’s development arm the team includes Arch|Nexus, Spectrum Engineers and Revealey Engineering. In addition, FirstDigital will provide initial fibre, network connectivity and telecommunications services.
