TierPoint renews industry certifications and compliance audits

TierPoint has completed the renewal of key industry certifications and its SSAE 18 annual compliance audits.
Specifically it’s the HIPAA, PCI-DSS, GLBA, and SSAE 18 annual compliance audits for all the 42 data centres across 20 US markets data centres that TierPoint operates.
"Security, privacy protection, and reliability are paramount to the success of our customers and a priority for our company," said Paul Mazzucco, chief security officer at TierPoint. "Year round, we deploy rigorous testing and infrastructure analyses to help make sure we not only meet but exceed industry standards in all our data centres."
SSAE 18 the new auditing standard implemented by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) in 2017. There are two audit types that TierPoint were able to meet for all its data centres, which are the SOC 1 Type II and SOC 2 Type II. SOC audits assess the effectiveness of the controls in place to address operations, compliance and financial reporting.
The company says that compliance in the data centre and colocation space in particularly important as it provides uniform processes and practices that meet industry standards for physical and operational efficiency, privacy protection and security In the US TierPoint is part of a select few national infrastructure providers to have achieved compliance certifications for a footprint of this size.
Last month, TierPoint entered into an agreement with Zayo Group to offer Zayo’s CloudLink solutions. CloudLink offers dedicated, high-performance bandwidth options, enabling secure connectivity directly to the world’s largest public cloud providers and other data centres. As a result selected TierPoint data centres now offer connectivity to Zayo’s extensive fibre network, which includes more than 11.5 million fibre miles globally.
