HGC and GTMH launch carrier-grade cloud service in Myanmar

HGC and Golden TMH Telecom Company (GTMH) are working together to deploy carrier-grade cloud services in Myanmar.

The two parties will offer Infrastructure-as-a-service (IaaS) solutions to Myanmar enterprises, with both hardware and software as part of the cloud virtual machine hosting service.

“We are pleased to extend our enterprise cloud service to Myanmar in collaboration with GTMH,” said Ravindran Mahalingam, HGC’s senior vice president of international business. “This offers the opportunity to provide local and international corporate customers with a highly-secure and integrated enterprise cloud solution tailored for corporates. It has further strengthened our position in the Greater Mekong Subregion (GMS) while at the same time showcasing a successful example of HGC’s niche market strategy.”

Under the terms of the joint marketing agreement HGC will provide cloud platform monitoring, support and management, as well as the provisioning of IaaS. While GTMH will provide local connectivity and as well as remote support for the IaaS platform. This will ensure the carrier-grade service can be localised in Myanmar as well as for cross-border (Myanmar - Hong Kong) cloud back-up for critical data and applications.

According to the two companies, the new offering will enable Myanmar enterprises flexible connectivity solutions without the need for costly upfront investments.

Delevaux Alexis, CEO of GTMH, added:  “Riding on HGC’s software-defined and fully Payment Card Industry (PCI)-compliant cloud services, with the cloud technology we provide together to local enterprises, can support Myanmar in reaching its ultimate goals for economic development, SME sector development, and e-government transformation. It will eventually change the lives of millions of our people.”
