Imperva, the US-based cyber security company, has doubled its presence in Russia at IXcellerate’s Moscow One data centre.
Imperva current PoP in the IXcellerate facility has a performance of 100Gbps with a capacity that is scalable on demand.
Speaking on the news, Rita Levinson Harel, channel sales manager at Imperva Incapsula, said: “We are glad to be one of the first DDoS vendors to operate a dedicated DDoS scrubbing center in Russia. IXcellerate’s Tier 3+ infrastructure and service level, together with our global network capabilities, position us to mitigate even largest attacks with zero disruption to ongoing website operations. In terms of scope, the local DDoS market is estimated at approximately $40M and is growing steadily.”
Before partnering with IXcellerate all Imperva internet traffic from Russian clients were filtered through Imperva’s hubs Warsaw and Stockhol which had a negative effect on the performance of its services. As well as this, the company received specific requests from key Russian customers that the processed traffic stayed within the country.
“With the installation and the subsequent expansion of Imperva, IXcellerate customers are gaining an extra layer of protection granted by the new services in just cross-connect distance,” explained Guy Willner, CEO and co-founder of IXcellerate.
Imperva’s new data centre hub in Moscow provides a full suite of DDoS as well as website performance and security services, as well as a global CDN or intelligent caching and content optimization; a web application firewall (WAF) to protect against data breaches; a load balancer for application availability and performance; and IP security to ensure private and secure communications.
Imperva says that when choosing a Russian data centre it looked for one that could ensure high infrastructure availability with full compliance to local legislation all while maintaining a global SLA of 99.999%. In addition, IXcellerate’s Moscow One data centre in home to a number of carriers giving Imperva access to a lots of potential clients.
